Auguston and the newer master-planned streets have square openings and builder-grade hardware, so what fails is the hardware itself: hinges with screws that only ever caught the jamb, closet tracks, deadbolts that were never properly aligned to the strike. Clearbrook and East Hill homes have settled enough that the opening is the problem rather than the door, which is a different repair entirely. Out on Sumas Mountain, in Matsqui and around Bradner the exterior doors take rural weather and the properties often have outbuildings with doors of their own. Rental units across the city need locks that simply work for the next tenant. One drive out Highway 1 covers whichever of these you have, and the more doors on the list, the better that drive works for you.
