Handyman in White Rock, BC

I'm a handyman based in Langley, and White Rock is a regular route for me, from East Beach and Marine Drive up the hillside. Salt air is hard on decks, railings, fences, and paint, so I scope every job in writing before I start. $150 minimum per job.

The area

White Rock work has a pattern: the ocean gets a vote. Decks, fences, railings, and exterior paint age faster within a few blocks of the water.

Up the hill it changes again: older character homes with settled framing, doors that need fitting rather than fastening, and driveways and stair runs that shape how I stage tools and materials. That is exactly the kind of detail I want in the quote form before I show up.

I serve White Rock from East Beach through West Beach, Hillside, Five Corners, Centennial Park, and along Marine Drive. White Rock jobs often mean exterior maintenance, fence and deck upkeep, pressure washing, and small repair lists shaped by coastal weather and older hillside properties. I scope that kind of work in writing first, because weathered surfaces rarely match a guess made from the street.

FAQ · White Rock

Straight answers about working in White Rock.

The questions White Rock owners actually ask before they send a list.

  • Does the ocean air really wear things out faster in White Rock?

It does. Salt air and winter rain are hard on decks, railings, fences, and exterior paint near the water. That is why refinishing, exterior repairs, and pressure washing make up so much of my White Rock work, and why I scope weathered surfaces in writing before quoting.

  • Can you work on hillside properties with awkward access?

Yes, but tell me up front. Steep driveways, long stair runs down to the house, and tight parking on the bluff streets all change how I stage tools and materials. A note about access in the quote form saves both of us a surprise on job day.

  • Do you take small jobs in the beach-area condo buildings?

Yes. My $150 minimum applies to every job, so for a condo it pays to bundle the small stuff: a door that rubs, a fixture swap, caulking, wall repairs. Check whether your building needs notice or elevator booking and include that with the request.

  • My White Rock house is older and nothing is quite square. Is that a problem?

No, it is normal for the older character homes up the hillside. Settled framing means doors, trim, and cabinets need fitting rather than just fastening. I measure the real conditions and put what the fix involves in the written scope.

Sign-off

Weather does the work down here, and salt-air damage reads differently up close than it does from the street. Photos of the deck, the railing, or the fence line get you a written estimate instead of a guess.
