A hall bathroom refresh in a Hillside house usually means pulling dated tile, flattening the subfloor, and laying new porcelain with clean silicone where the floor meets the tub. Beach-area condos often want vinyl plank through the main rooms, and the transitions at doorways and the balcony slider are where that job is won or lost. In older homes near Five Corners I sometimes find plank floating over a dip that should have been levelled first, and fixing the substrate once is always cheaper than replacing a failed floor twice.
